I'm only 38, and haven't hit the lottery, so no retirement for me quite yet.

I'm changing career fields and will be working for a global communications satellite company.

Re: th400 long shaft in a g body

There were some 9-inch 32 spline output shafts also in some TH400's. It's no big deal to use it in your G-body with a shorter driveshaft.

Re: BROKEN OFF 700R4 BELLHOUSING? ???'S

I have yet to find a 12-inch core that will fit a JW bell housing regardless of what their instructions say. There's plenty of radial clearance, but not enough axial clearance.

Re: BROKEN OFF 700R4 BELLHOUSING? ???'S

I haven't seen that converter requirements for the Ultra Bell - they are suppose to fit a stock converter. They will handle up to a 12 in converter. This is not correct. An Ultra Bell will definitely not accept a 12-inch torque converter. You can barely fit a 265mm converter in some of those bell h...

Re: BROKEN OFF 700R4 BELLHOUSING? ???'S

As others have mentioned, the transmission case cannot be repaired. You're going to need to get your transmission re-cased or replace the unit entirely. Worn-out or broken engine mounts will definitely contribute to this type of failure, but if all this happened while running the car on jack stands ...

Re: stall and gearing

You have a good combination of parts for a street car. Your engine will produce a lot of low-speed and mid-range torque, making it a lot of fun to drive on the street. You don't need a converter with a 4,000 RPM stall speed rating, nor do you need a 4.10 gear ratio. Your engine is going to have an e...

Re: TH 350. Am I wasting my time?

A properly assembled TH350 will easily withstand the amount of horsepower and torque your combination is generating. Mark Sussino (slimbo) has had one of our TH350's and one of our 8-inch converters in his Grand Prix since 2010. This car weighs 3,900 pounds, covers the 60-foot clocks in the high 1.2...

Re: T350 REFRESH

With proper fluid maintenance and temperature management you can probably easily put 400 - 500 hits on that transmission without any issues. Keep an eye on the pan for wear debris. If the pan is clean and the transmission is functioning properly then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Re: Th350 pump thrust washer / bearing

Yes, you can replace the bearing with a thrust washer in order to achieve proper end-play in the TH350. You may have to shim the washer accordingly.

Re: Th350 low /reverse clutches

This could be caused by a number of reasons, including bumping the transbrake button when the car is in motion, a problem with the piston in the back of the case, a crack in the case, a cut lip seal, insufficient clearance in the clutch pack, etc. A welded reverse clutch pack is typically a very unc...
