Re: 79' 2dr Malibu L92/4l60e swap

The spohn mounts are not as easy to "bolt in" as the adapter plates, but once they are in, they have a much better fit and finish than the plates and you can actually use the low mount A/C compressor your engine came with. By the way, your build is looking great!

Re: Most complete and headache free mounts for motor and tra

Nice and thank you guys. Does anyone know if the V6 mounts in my car are the same as the V8 mounts needed for the spohn mounts? Thanks For the spohn mounts, you need the engine side mounts that come on an ls1 from a 98-02 f-body. I bought mine with poly inserts from the ls1tech classifieds section ...

Re: 98 F-body gauges question

You might need to do a fuel segment swap in your tune. Can be done in hptuners or efilive.

Re: Most complete and headache free mounts for motor and tra

I just mounted my 5.3 today with the spohn mounts. I had to slightly slot 2 holes on each side of the frame rail and drill one hole in order for the frame mounts to line up with the engine mounts, however this may be due to using poly inserts in the clamshells. Overall, these look like they are goin...

Re: Most complete and headache free mounts for motor and tra

Ok sorry to hijack but just to make sure because I am about to order mounts. If I order the spohn mounts I can basically bolt the 99 1500 5.3L engine into the car with no problems? I will also be able to use the AC compressor that is on the stock 5.3L in the stock location with no problems? What ab...

Re: Most complete and headache free mounts for motor and tra

Spohn frame mounts and an original or an iceman crossmember. The spohn mounts leave you room to use a factory 5.3 A/C compressor without notching the frame. They position the engine similar to the 1" setback plates.

Re: Autometer Speedometer

I assume you are using the factory 02 ecm and harness? You can access ecm pinouts to determine the wires you need for your tach and speedo on lt1swap.com. The stock ecm does have a speeo and tach output. As far as the turn signals, you will have to splice into your original cluster harness for these...

Re: ??5.3/lm7 to LS6 intake question

The truck injectors wont work with the ls1/ls6 intake and rails. Check some of the truck forums if your dead set on re-using them. I think some have made them work. As far as bolt on goes, your going to need ls1/ls6 style injectors and the tune needs to be adjusted for them.

Re: Any complete full kits thats fit for sure

BRP sells a complete kit that fits very well, but you'll also pay for it. If your looking to save some money, the cts-v oil pan and 1" setback mounts is a very well fitting combination and gives better ground clearance than the BRP kit with the H3 pan. I recently tried these mounts from dirty dingo ...

Re: Off the shelf cam for ls1 shorty with ported ls6 heads?

A real popular cam that has good drivability and makes good power would be something in the mid 220s duration. If your looking to save a few bucks I have a new cam for sale. It is a 224/228 114lsa cam from texas-speed. If you do some looking on ls1tech, you''ll see this is a well proven cam in setup...

So I take it has no slip yoke for the driveshaft either? Looking forward to see how this comes together.

What is the tr6060 from? Do you have a remote shifter?
