Re: Wiseman79's LS1 build

Hey guys. I've decided to stop lurking as I have been since selling the Cutlass and say I'm still alive (if anyone remembers me that is). I thought this was a good time to pop back up to add some closure to this thread at least. While nothing is ever "done", this chapter is complete. I did end up st...

Re: new pro flo xt intake

Looks good, I would think alot of people would mistake it for an LT1.

Re: 6.0 with 350 trans do I need a different flex plate ???

There was an article in Car Craft that detailed this well. I set it aside since I'll be facing the same issue when I get a little further in my swap as I'm using a 200-4r in my swap. I'll see if I can find it. Anyway I doubt you can just stack washers, if you look at this spacer you'll see it is tap...

Re: Has anyone attempted (or thought to try) mechanical linkage?

Found these pics of someone trying to adapt a bracket made to add mechanical linkage to late model big blocks to use with an LS1. The caption with the pics is below as well, I lifted this info from corvetteforum.com, sorry I keep referencing corvette stuff but it's what I'm familiar with when it com...

Re: Has anyone attempted (or thought to try) mechanical linkage?

C3's are '68 to '82. There are pics of it installed somewhere on corvetteforum.com, I'll see if I can find them. Or better yet I know if you email speedhound they'll send you pics or a link, like I said the guy has been very helpful to me in my LS1 conversion (in a C3 though), even in subjects that ...

Re: Has anyone attempted (or thought to try) mechanical linkage?

www.speedhound.com sells a ball stud adapter like you're describing for C3 corvette's. I don't know if it would work on a G-body or if the pic may be useful in designing your own. If you contact them even by email, the owner responds pretty quick and is pretty willing to help. Here's the part- http:...

F-body idler question

Is there supposed to be a spacer or washer behind the idler pulley on the F-body setup? Without one the pulley rubs the alt bracket. What about in front of it, is there a certain washer type or will any old washer work?

Re: Wiseman79's LS1 build

wow that's tame for a lsx camshaft...plenty of off -the- shelf proven cams out there , hope it works for you... Yeah, I'm running it with a 2400rpm convertor, 200r4 and 3.08 rear so should be about right. This car is a cruiser mainly but hopefully I didn't go too tame. Stock I think is .500" so it'...
