Re: anyone use GBODYPARTS.com?

If you want anything from them to arrive fast buy from there Ebay store front. If you order from there website you will be waiting for a long time or get the wrong parts or not your complete order in one go around. I appreciate the tip but, I am never using G Body parts again. finally got an email ...

Re: anyone use GBODYPARTS.com?

well seat brackets arrived last night. paid for 4-6 day shipping, took 4 weeks. no communication from them at all while waiting. one of the four brackets is improperly drilled. (this I could fix on my own) the other problem is I ordered 17" brackets and received 18". might have to see if my buddy ca...

Re: anyone use GBODYPARTS.com?

very frustrating, I have the welder waiting to put the roll bar in but want to have the seat mounted first. I have ordered parts for three other vehicles from three other places and all of those parts are here and I have them installed already. they don't communicate at all, I have sent a couple ema...

anyone use GBODYPARTS.com?

I ordered some seat mount brackets from them.
I got an initial contact saying they would ship out in 2 weeks. it has been 3 weeks now and no further contact from them at all.

is it worth waiting a bit more for the parts or .....

of course they were not slow in hitting my CC for their payment.

Re: drag race tips

seems like the obvious answer would be wheelie bars but, I do not know for sure. was at the track yesterday and seen a guy roll his car off the trailer and then attach a pair or removable wheelie bars. you could not tell the car had them at all until they were attached, it looked perfectly clean wit...

Re: roll bar questions

Thanks for the answer. pretty much exactly what I was thinking.

talked to the welder last night, he did say he would prefer the tank be out. I can't blame him for that, I have had a few close calls with fire and did not enjoy it at all.

thanks a lot for the positioning advice for the rear bars.

roll bar questions

got an 8 point roll bar for the monte. not a cage so no front hoop. couple questions before I take her to the welder. bars go to frame. do they weld directly to the frame without the footplates? it seems redundant to put the plate on the frame. I could see using plates with a unibody car. when you w...

Re: 6 point cage pricing

thanks for the info. I had thought about the body bushings etc, going to give them a good look in the next couple weeks.

I will probably stick to the 6 point cage. I doubt I would run the car enough or fast enough to need the 10. mostly looking to make it a street/strip kind of thing.

Re: 6 point cage pricing

I'd go right to a 10 point. Yes that price sounds high but i've always done it myself so i don't know what others charge. that was my initial plan as well. I have a very highly skilled welder available. I got a bit nervous about how to actually install the cage. I used to work in fabrication but th...

6 point cage pricing

so called a local fab shop to have a 6 point cage put in the Monte. Interior is out, fuel tank is out. headliner is in. they want to remove the liner themselves so they can judge how much clearance is needed for bars. using DOM steel, they quoted $2700-2800. seem fair? honestly I thought it would be...
