Guys, I like the input, but the reason I set the guide lines I did was mainly because I work so much and travel alot. I just cant see spending $8000 on a motor that will set in a car inside a garage and not get driven much. I want to build something on a $2000 budget or so, that I can have some fun ...

Guys thanks for the comments!

As far as heads go, I wanted to keep the whole motor old looking and have a set of double hump heads on the motor.

I will keep this in mind when collecting parts.

I have a 509 block from a van with a 400turbo. the truck only showed 75k on it.

I am assuming it is a 2bolt block and was planning on splaying it on the bottom end.

Thanks for the heads up on the pricing of parts. Momma wont be happy...lol

All I have to contribute to this is that for a beginner that is trying to learn and understand as much as possible it is nice to have guys explain stuff in simple language where you can understand it.
