Re: Replacement guage panel

If you have any patience and some experience with fiberglass you can make one of these for less than $50 and use a hole saw to cut out the gauge holes. I did mine a long time ago (before you could buy these) and I don't have a pic of it handy but I spent $50 on materials and used a round gauge clust...

Re: best way to buy a 5.3/4.8/6.0

I got my 6.0 complete because it was cheap. The advantage is that it is all there. In my case I'm going to swap the heads and intake and exhaust (amongst other things) I know I didn't want what it came with but I took it all because it wasn't expensive and I can maybe sell the parts I don't want to ...

Re: Anybody use 3rd gen Camaro mirrors?

I have them on my car, the little plastic gasket that goes between them and the body are different than the ones on the Camaro. I believe that they can be forced to work though. The holes for them are in a completely different spot so they do require some body work to fill the old holes.

Re: 78 malibu steering column?

I swapped my 78 column with a 79 and had to replace the intermediate shaft as well as the steering box...if things don't want to bolt right up be aware this might be a problem.

:P The Camaro seats look like this, I've got a set in my el camino (and in my camaro)

I think they look really at home in the malibu interior. Not too racecar looking but not a longe chair either.

Re: Grand Prix 2+2 rear seats... actual 2+2 seating?

After looking at 91hrdbody's Malibu, I may look into a 2nd set of buckets to mount in the rear as well, possibly find a set of G-Body buckets with separate headrests, or even a second set of high-back buckets... I'm pretty sure his seats are 4th gen. Camaro/Firebird ('93+). http://www.maliburacing....

Yeah the rear seat back measures 41" across and the bottoms are 20" wide and 19" front to back.

Re: 4L80e in a G-body

I've heard there may be some clearance issues but nothing a hammer couldn't remedy. I just picked up a 6.0L LQ4 and it is set up for a 4L80E and wanted to know the same thing. From what I've read the trans is a lot like a Th400 with an overdrive. Apparently over on LS1Tech.com there are some guys wh...

I know they are the same, just giving some options for him...plus if you tell the parts guys you want camaro parts they sometimes are less expensive even if they are the same as the vette parts.

Re: I want to upgrade brakes but have belltech spindles on

Your other option could be to cut off the ears and turn down the rotor to a hub and use a set of brakes and calipers from a 98-02 Camaro with an adapter plate for the calipers...I have drop spindles and am in the same boat as you. I don't have the funds to do the swap right now but it will work. I h...

Yeah looks like a 80-90s b-body rear. My friend has one laying in his shop he bought it because it had Posi but it doesn't seem to fit under his hot rods.

Re: Automatic floor shifter (neutral safety and reverse ligh

You can wire the neutral safety switch to only start the car in P or N by setting it up on the new shifter. You just have to use the microswitch that comes with the new shifter and if it isn't in the right gear the car won't start. Of course that takes some trial and error to get it just right. I in...

If you need the measurements for an Fbody rear bucket bottom or the back let me know I have a '98 Camaro I can measure for you Doob. Its the same dimensions as the 80s I believe.

Re: New Product! 78-88 G-Body Shock and Spring Lowering Kit

Thanks for the reply, I'll keep these in mind when I have the front end apart again doing brakes. I'd love to get the car down another inch in the front and maybe 2-3" in the back.

Re: New Product! 78-88 G-Body Shock and Spring Lowering Kit

Do you guys know how these will work with a set of 2" drop spindles?
I already have those installed on my car and am lookinng for a spring option to get the back down some and help the handling some more.
