    New cross member exhaust hanger?

I took out my stock cross member and will be replacing it with the G-Force one. There was an "arm" attached under the mount that stuck out. I was under the impression it was an exhaust hanger. When I put the new one in, do I put this back in as well? The transmission is a TH350, and I will be...

    Dirt Dobber

It says you're in texas, so I'm guessing the frame rails are solid? I know that is where I started with my 79. Then it was new gas tank/ lines, tires, etc. I'm in the process of swapping the 305 for a 350 with all the little upgrades (intake, headers, HEI distributor, high performance wires...

    Throttle Cable/ transmission kickdown bracket

This looks like it would work. So this would bolt to the top of the intake, next to the distributer, correct?

    Throttle Cable/ transmission kickdown bracket

I found some other posts from a few years ago and I see this is a common problem people run into. I'll keep plugging along with the assembly for now -getting all the front accessories on and lined up, and look at it when I have everything else on. I do have an automatic th350. My neighbor's dad...

    Throttle Cable/ transmission kickdown bracket

Yes, the bracket that goes along the back side of the carb. On the stock engine it lines up with the back two bolts on the carb. For the new carb the bracket doesn't line up. This is the first engine swap I've done, so I'm not real savvy.

    Throttle Cable/ transmission kickdown bracket

I swapped my original 305 for a 350 and put a Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor w/ electric choke on the new engine. The bracket that was on there previously doesn't match up with the new one. There are two holes the matched up to the carb mounting bolts on the back, but don't line up with the new...

Installing engine with HF engine hoist and transmission still in. Help!

I wanted to give you guys an update. I have been taking my time and just looking at the engine in different ways trying to figure out how to get it to drop down. I used an engine leveler and somehow it worked! I wish I could tell you exactly how it fit, but it did. I was able to get the mounting...

Installing engine with HF engine hoist and transmission still in. Help!

I replaced the mounts, but they are identical to the ones that were on there. I can't even get one side on without it hitting somewhere else. The way I have been trying to do it is by lowering it slowly and trying to push it over the last few inches because the arm on the lift is too short. I am...

Installing engine with HF engine hoist and transmission still in. Help!

Thanks for the advice. I tried the engine leveler but it still won't line up. I tried to shift the transmission back as the mount is trashed (I have a new one that I will install with the new cross member) but I couldn't get that bolt to nudge, I think it's 15mm? I'm losing my mind. I wish I...

Installing engine with HF engine hoist and transmission still in. Help!

I have been stuck for quite some time now with trying to install my engine. I pulled the old 305 by myself after disconnecting the transmission. I was able to put the engine hoist at an angle by the driver's side fender and slowly lift it out while pushing on the engine to make sure it didn't hit...

    Rear window Rattling?

The bottom of the window was not attached to the seal anymore. I cleaned the glass and rubber as best I could and use permetex auto glass sealer. I had to put it on a putty knife to get it between the glass and rubber, but it sealed up pretty good and no more rattle! easy fix for $5!

    Rear window Rattling?

I've had a rumbling or rattling noise coming from the rear of my car for a little while. I've since then fixed exhaust, gas tank, bumper, frame rail, and shock problems. I still have the noise and I think it is coming from the back window. Someone thought it might be the aluminum trim so I used...

    Brake Caliper Bolt size?

Am I right that the head size on the brake caliper bolts for my 1979 malibu are 9mm? I tried all my alan wrenches and none worked. Borrowed a 9mm socket head from a guy at work and it seams top fit, but I want to be sure before I try. Anyone else know of this? Thanks! -Spencer

    Swapping a 305 for a 350

I'm probably in over my head here, but I bought a 350 bored out .030 over with a mild cam and decent heads, and now I want to swap it out for the stock 305 in my 1979 malibu. I am under the impression that this should be an easy enough swap, but I've never actually pulled a motor or put one in...
