Ive always thought my car sat a little too high in the front, and sat about right in the rear. The car hooks good now wondering if dropping the front could hurt my traction or weight transfer. I'm thinking no. But not sure.
Running my car @ Bristol last night. I was noticing my rpm drop @ shift 2nd to 3rd seemed odd. Shifting @ 6500 I noticed almost no rpm drop and the shift light stayed lit all the way threw from the 8th to the 1/4 traps. I was well over 7k at the stripe I'm thinking it was 7300 +/-. Has th350...
A member (cant remember him) here told me they used a Hambergers bbc oil pan with no issues using solid Moroso engine mounts. I sit my engine in tonight everything is ok. But the steering center link is rubbing on the pan. Looks like it may need maybe 1/2" clearance. Engine cross member cleared...
Got what I think is a weird problem. My BBC Hamburgers oil pan has about 6 less bolt holes than my block. Anyone run into this? There's only 1 part number for the BBC pan style I have. In the pics at Jegs you can see the first pan at the bottom has less holes, and the other pics show more...
Anyone using 4.10 gears and a 28" tall tire? What RPM are you trapping at N/A 1/4 mile? I just switched from a 3.73 to 4.10's. 6200 rpm is about the limit on my hyd roller. May need to change tire to 29" or get a rev kit.
I'm considering swapping from a Hyd roller to a solid roller. I have AFR heads that came with roller springs. I couldn't find anything on the site about the springs. Will the same springs I have work with solid roller too? I sent AFR an e mail but just wondering what you guys think.
Trying to get parts together for my bbc build. I plan on using N20 on it, I'm thinking 250 Max. The Probe pistons I'm looking at come with a moly top ring set. Ive been reading and finding all kinds of different ring opinions. Seems like Hell fire rings are a good choice, but do I need rings...
When I bought my car it already had a 12 bolt out of a Chevelle. That was 3 years ago and I forgot what year Chevelle he said. Well I broke my left axle Friday night at test and tune. Does anyone know for sure which years Chevelle is a fit for the G body? I know its a bit wide because my frame...
I cant seem to find an answer to this. If using a stand alone fuel system for nitrous with 112 octane and the engine runs on pump 89 octane. Do I still pull timing out like I would if I were running the N20 system and the engine off the same fuel source? Or can I get away with leaving timing at...
As some know Ive had recent issue with lack of traction. I measured my pinion angle today I have -3deg total. -2 deg on the pinion and -1 deg on the drive shaft. Has south side bars, but still has stock rubber bushings in the upper housing of the rear end (12 blt). Is -3 deg enough or should I...
I don't know why I waited so long. I was surprised at how easy it steers, I actually like it better now it just has a better feel. Super easy swap and well worth it. Just have to get my steering wheel re centered now. Just thought I would post this for any one thinking of doing the swap.
Thinking of doing the manual steering box swap on my bu. How much weight can be lost by doing this swap? I take my belt off at the strip and pick up a .10 but it steers like crap and takes me about 5 min to do. How good does the manual box feel, is it any better than driving a power box with...
My 1 gal fuel cell for my N20 system has 2 -6 vent ports on top. I'm guessing cap one of them and run a hard line from the other to under the car. I suppose the other is for a return line but I'm not using one. Is this correct? Also why is there foam in the cell?
I'm taking out my TCI 3k street fighter this weekend. I'm going to order one from Redneck tomorrow with anti ballooning plates. Car works ok with the 3000 now but Im planning ahead here I'm going to put a bigger cam and more compression in it next winter. Will it kill my car now If I put a 3500...
