We have a 83 Malibu wagon that is getting a new motor and may need to have a hole in the hood and a cowl for the air cleaner. My question is will any of the 78 - 81 hoods fit the car including the nose header?

Can anyone tell me what the relay looking thing on the firewall of my 83 Malibu is and does? It is on a flexable strap rite behind the distributor and the wire harness goes down into the main engine compartment loom. This car has all the electronic`s off of it.

In a 78-83 Malibu has anyone ever used the stock crosmember to install a 200 R4 in place of TH350 by moving the mount pad to the back side of the crossmember? I realize there could be a problem with transmission pan and the crossmember. Any help?
