    Pinion angle help please!

Thanks for all your comments. Like I have been reading in all other research on this topic there are mixed reviews. Todd - Thanks for your 2cents on this. Its good to hear from someone with the same situation I have and the car working. What you said also works with advice I received from a...

    Pinion angle help please!

That is what I have been reading everywhere. Unfortunately I had the motor and mid plates welded in using the stock motor mounts. So I can't change that without redoing it. I am also unsure of having the rear pointing up. Ill try it out and see what happens I guess. Thanks.

    Pinion angle help please!

I am resetting my pinion angle after changing it last year to try clearing a vibration issue. The vibration was the yoke of the driveshaft and not the suspension. This is what I currently have The car is has a ladder bar suspension. I believe I want 1-2° of pinion angle. I was told that I...

    brace on rearend housing

I do not think the breaks are to tight, especially to cause that.

    brace on rearend housing

The first one that broke, broke a couple teeth off the ring and pinion. The second was about the same as the first, but it also broke the pinion support and the case. This is the first time it took all the teeth off the pinion only. Talking to the metallurgist at work, we are thinking that the...

    brace on rearend housing

I finally got the rearend apart, and here is the damage. The ring gear has one chunk taken out of one tooth.

    brace on rearend housing

When the last one broke, I bought the Strange nodular iron case. I am hoping that this one didn't break that case.

    brace on rearend housing

The first one that broke had a tooth or two broke off the ring gear, along with the the housing that holds the small bearing for the end of the pinion (stock case). I found everything before it really let go. The second one appeared like it may have broke the pinion support first, but then broke...

    brace on rearend housing

Haha, you didn't have the guts to ask that, but you asked if I was using the ladder bars with the stock supension! I won't get affended, I can miss the obvious things. Thats why I asked here, to see if there is something that I have missed.

    brace on rearend housing

The frame rails were cut right behind the body mount, and moved in 4.5". The tires fit nicely inside the fender, without rolling the lip.

    brace on rearend housing

Great thought, but I have had three different people set them up. First was someone that has been running a auto repair shop for probably 20+ years, and has set up all his own for the multiple dragsters they have own. The second was a die hard ford guy that has been working on them for many...

    brace on rearend housing

Examples, because I don't want you to think I would do still have the stock suspension, with ladder bars.

    brace on rearend housing

No, the stock suspension was removed when the ladder bars were installed. But that would be a great laugh to see, if it was the case. The suspension being stiff is simply the shocks being set to tight, front and rear. The car drives out smooth, with very little movement, and no bouncing. The car...

    brace on rearend housing

29.5x11.5 tires, and yes I use a transbrake. 3300 lb with me in it, 1.40 60ft. Yes it is shocking the tire, but not like others are. The car is setup with ladder bars and coilovers. I had a friend driving my car before it broke, and he said that the suspension is really stiff, and does not...

    brace on rearend housing

So I have broken 3 ring and pinions in the last three years, which got me thinking. Is it possible that the rear end housing is flexing and causing this to happen? Should I have a brace installed on the housing to help reduce or eliminate the flex? I have a Moster 9" housing, so it isn't as weak...

    rear speaker deck and trim

Thanks for the info. I am going to have to see if I can find that trim piece, otherwise it will most likely be hard to find one for sale.

    rear speaker deck and trim

Can someone show me what was originally on the rear speaker deck? Was it carpeted? Also I am guessing there is supposed to be a trim piece between the rear glass and the speaker deck. Mine was damaged in a fire years ago, and its really bothering me now.

    brake caliper position

The calipers have four pistons. I didn't notice much difference , besides maybe locking up the back brakes easier.
