Everything else is the same but the hole that was taper bored into lower spindle. Bummer there is no special ball joint.

So far I've been doing the hammer shims in till u figure I can really get that many more in there. For curiosity I pulled the pinion out and put the carrier back in with the same amount of shims I had been putting and when I went to spin it it spun 3/4 of a turn.

Just curious what everyone is doing or recommends for setting carrier bearing preload.

Can anyone she'd some light on which side I should really be concerned about for a pattern? Drive or coast. Seem like my drive ain't bad but my coast is way on the toe

I guess for starters I would like to find out what all the dimensions are for standard 8.5 axles The way this whole transaction happened I wouldn't be surprised I have the wrong axle but would need some numbers to confirm.
