    longer connecting rod

Now, for high performance, if you can't see the benefits of a higher pin position, in a smaller, lighter piston with a shorter skirt, with a slightly longer dwell time at TDC and BDC, with a slightly quicker piston speed through the intake/exhaust sweep as a result of the longer rod, you'll...

    longer connecting rod

OOOOKKKKK GUYS, I'M BACK! Excellent input everyone! I can see this forum has definately established a place for itself on this board. This subject certainly has been around for a long time, and before I chatted with that old German engineer I hadn't given it a blink of an eye. That 45 minute...

    longer connecting rod

Thanks! To further elaborate, long rods will not make horsepower by itself, but allow horsepower to be made more eficiently, sort of like nitrous oxide. Nitrous alone does not burn but allows more fuel to be put through the motor to make power. It's working in harmony where these gains are made.

Here I go jumping in......... I became a believer after sitting down for a bite to eat at lunch about twenty years ago. I noticed this old man sitting alone toying with his calculator. After a few minutes he notices I am emersed in an article on how to control detonation on particular cylinders...

Brake Line size... 3/16 or 1/4....

Sounds like all the sales guys here are somehow related to the sales guys there.....just under a different name. United Auto Parts, or NAPA is our main autoparts supplier here, though we do have a small Autozone and Checkers. Those guys are sorta screwed because almost all shops and corporate...

Brake Line size... 3/16 or 1/4....

Jim, I just completed the entire brake system on my car, and can offer a little advice. Don't buy the Jeg's coil kit. Everything that you'll ever need to complete your system is available at your local Napa's. The hardline that you want to ask for is this new line that they carry. It's...

front caliper fittings, and all braided rear lines

I just redid my whole system with Aerospace disks F/R. They have braided kits for GM G-bodies with correct front adaptors to be a direct replacement for the stock ones. Tell them what you have and they'll set you up. http://www.aerospacecomponents.com/lines.htm

    I Wanna Kick Myself!!

Man you right. It does say that on the inside of the case. I wish they tell you 'bout it when they sell you stainless. It's nice to have stainless, but it aint a show car. The longevity (Remember HAWAII) of it is cool, but the hassle of working stainless with a deadline working on the Bu 8+...

    I Wanna Kick Myself!!

TOMMY YOU ARE CORRECT!!!! I went to the shop and began trying to make a single flair after my last post and the d**n thing wouldn't even do that! It kept slipping out and not taking, so I cranked the Klien flaring tool real hard to hold the line in place and SNAP! I brokr the clamp bolt...

I call my buddies over and we're all stumped with consperacy theories from aliens to the Taliban. Wasted a length before throwing in the towel at 4am. This morning I figure I'll...

    TRAVIS IS DA MAN!!!!!

Ok you all know I'm out here in "We don't stock that item" paradise called Hawaii. Awhile ago I bought a Mopar style M/C from Art Morison and was trying to figure how to mount it as a manual unit on my firewall. Then Steel Concepts produce the answer I was looking for and I get one. This thing...

    brake line install question

Mike you there man? I'm dead bra. The car is NOT on the ground yet. My otherwise clean shop is an absolute construction zone. My wife and I have been thrashing 8-10 hour days after work for the last two weeks in order to get her back together so we can work out the bugs and dial it in at our...

    brake line install question

Yeah buddy! That's rhe first thing I did.....remove the 9", control arms, springs and shocks. Lots of room to go about routing new lines. Also making new lines across the rear, trying to make'em tight and neat. Stooped shocks interfere with braided line 90* elbow. May drill a new hole on the LCA...

    Brake Line Fab Question

Yeah I went there for that cool ratchet one from Imperial that can make 180* bends in a 1" radius using a 3/16 line, but Sears was out of stock. Still chasing this one down online today so I can finish my brakelines by Sunday! Here's the link...

Hey Mike how you doing on yours? Last night I took the old prop valve out and got the bolts and clamps off. I rounded the OEM rubber hose nut on the bulkhead fitting and got out the cut off wheel. Done deal. What now? I can yank the old line out pretty easy I'm sure, but replacing it with new...
