    Molly drive shaft question

Proper way to measure for a driveshaft. Insert yoke in to transmission completely, pull it out 1", measure center to center distance. If you are going to a moly shaft why not 1350's? If you plan on sticking with the 7.5, I would not bother upgrading drive shafts - chances are the spider...

    Fbody / AFCO centerlink swap

Part number search DS 1049. Thought about buying all the TRW ones they had left and selling them for 35 shipped. Might have made $5 a piece. Figured it would be better to put the information out there for you guys to get them on your own. I got the car aligned the other day and the guy was...

    Fbody / AFCO centerlink swap

This is what AFCO has to say... Improved geometry drag link relocates the inner tie rod end to shorten both tie rod assemblies, which improves steering geometry by reducing the excessive toe out that is common to GM Metric chassis during normal suspension travel (bump steer). For me...

    Fbody / AFCO centerlink swap

Read a few reviews and I wasn't quite sure the centerlink swap would work. Had read guys saying they had to cut the skid horn off the crossmember etc... Well I did the swap and it works out fine. Skid horn does not need removed. I had to trim down my tie rods by about 1/2" per inner and...

    Malibu Instant Center calculations

I am just starting to get a little of an understanding. If the intersection point of the control arms is infront of the center of gravity it will cause the nose of the car to lift more potentially resulting in a wheelie contest ride type of setup... Still a little unclear as to what role the...

    Malibu Instant Center calculations

Tire is MT ET drag now. Best 60 ft on the slicks is a 1.48. Back when I ran the pro series 275 radial it 60ft a best of 1.45. Power estimate around 450 hp at the tires. 3400 lb car 6.92 @ 97 fastest it has been on the radials

    Malibu Instant Center calculations

Moving the lower control arm down 1" should hit the tires a little harder than moving the upper control arms but... There is a nice set of buckets and control arms from Baseline suspensions for $320 that would allow the upper control arms to be repositioned - would be a nicer setup than moving...

    Malibu Instant Center calculations

I would be happy with it leaving with the front end on the ground if it would be more consistent rather than using energy launching the front end straight up in the air...

    Malibu Instant Center calculations

Here are some quick figures from my car, used baseline suspensions calculator. Rearend is a 12 bolt GM, aftermarket HPM upper control arms for a 12 bolt and tubular double adjustables from Iceman. Let me know if any of the figures seem out of line and I can remeasure them. Just wondering what...

    Instant Center / Anti Squat #'s - 1.46 - 1.48 60 ft times

With the rain cancelling racing today figured I would take some measurements and see what the MR community thinks... I am looking to improve upon my 60 foot times a bit and I am taking a hard look at control arm relocation, just not sure if that's the right step or not?? Here's the results...

    Pinion angle retard!

-2 pinion angle. As you apply a load to the car the rearend will try to rotate forcing the pinion yoke towards the floor pan. Depending on your bushings solid / poly you can get by with running more or less pinion angle by changing control arm lengths. Longer uppers result in less - or...

has anyone installed the lca relocation brackets?

I would think the upper control arm would fail looking at that picture... Guess its really not doing much of the work, good majority is done by the lower... How much travel did you gain by taking out the factory bump stop section?

has anyone installed the lca relocation brackets?

Typically more front end travel will cure a good majority of traction problems in low to mid hp cars... My car sits about 1" from the bump stops on the lower control arms. An anti-rotation made a world of difference on mine once I started attacking the 60ft times... 1.50 isn't to shabby for a...
