would going from a 15 in wheel to a 17in wheel with the same size tire thickness and width have a noticeable less acceleration rate? I have the r.s. wheels on in now, but they are junked, and im looking to get some american racing rims or something similar. Could anyone suggest any decent rim/tire combinations for a 17in wheel with factory suspension and body. I just like the look of a slightly larger wheel. thanks, kyle

If the overall diameter is the same, acceleration will be he same. If you go to a taller tire then acceleration won't be as fast.

Not always. Import cars suffer from this exact issue. Many times a larger diameter wheel weighs more so it has more rotational mass. The added inertial resistance requires more power to get the wheel spinning. I've seen guys with import cars go from 14" to 17" wheels lose so much ET that they have to do engine work just to get the ET back to what it was when the car was bone stock...
