How to tell the difference between a 229 and a 4.3 V6 when both engines are carb.... and have a mech. fuel pump. Is there a casting #
229 & 4.3 V6

The 229 all have the outer perimiter bolts for the valve cover, 229`s never had the 4 inside, middle valve cover bolts, I`m a thinkin the 87 & up 4.3`s all had the middle bolts, and you can always check the drivers side casting numbers and the front pass side stamping as well, matty man 8)
