was wondering if putting these heads on my 40 over 350 with flat tops would be worth it or should i stick to my stock 350 heads. im putting a edelbrock preformer rpm intake and a 750 holly on it with a lunatti bracket master 2 with a lift of 515 and a 2500 stall converter. what kind of power can i expect from all of this and was wondering about the compretion ratio??

They will raise the compression,(i'm not sure exactly how much) yet I feel they never really will flow well enough. Like holtjohn said it depends on the 350 heads you have and more importantly what health they are in. Cylinder heads are IMO the place to spend. You can create more power effectively with good cylinder heads than just about any other bolt on.

I am running a set of H.O. 305 heads on my 355. Weiand Team G intake,Elgin Pro Stock cam(530 lift),750 D.P Holley and a 2800 stall. The car ran [email protected] but was a dog out of the hole so, I switched over to a 3800. Should knock off a few tenths. The heads have 1.94/1.6 valves and different springs installed but otherwise stock. Everyone tells me that the heads don't flow and will run out of steam but the car is still pulling hard as I cross the line. This should give you and idea of how the heads will work.

Now that being said, I can't wait to get a new set of heads cuz I know the motor has more in it.

I'm watching this topic. I have a nice set of 305 H.O. heads I was thinking of using vs. a crappy set of smogger stock heads. This is just on a cheapy throw together w/ a VERY mild cam.

Ok here is the thing HO 305 heads flow 195 cfm on the intake side with a 1.84 valve, and a set of 882 350 heads flow 205 cfm with a 1.94 valve. The 305 heads have a 58cc camber and the 882's have 76cc, so I can see how they can be a horsepower gain on some motors, but if you have a set of double humps then they are the ones to use.

the 305 heads would be good for stop light to stop light street use due to the higher comp ratio and improved torq on the low end. Just what I heard :?:

The 305 H.O. heads are good for a mild street motor with limited track use. Been down this road and found out the hard way, car ran great up to 5500-5800rpm, and was done after that.
