I can get a low milage 305 ho for cheap....i want a driver thst doubdd nice....wut csm could i throw in it to give it some more lump....abd naybe a gear drive

I ran one for awhile in my 78 Malibu I liked it. It's fine for a stock replacement and has okay power unless your used to power. I'd go with a summit brand cam 204/214 one is pretty good unless you want something bigger. I would choose it for a daily driver.
Did it have a nice tone to it? Any other componets need changed? I want it to sound tough but not be lol.....i hate to even consider a 305 but the price is right....miles are low and i love how my wagon is turn tje key and gokd with good mileage...my dads nova has power and yes its cool but u cant take it on a long cruise...this i want to get in turn the keyband not blink an eye...my byddy had a 305ho in high school and it preformed real well

Hey man....all the vids feature that cam?....love how it sounds...all stock except for the cam? ) looking to do this motor on a hudget and go cruising
Yes, the long block is original except for the cam. The cam made a noticeable difference in seat-of-the-pants feel.
Does it keep the choppy tone whennits warmed up or loose some of it? Thanks again for the info and vids
It loses some lope as it warms up. All 3 videos are after warmed up, but the one with open headers is definitely after closed loop has set in. The other 2 are shorter and I cannot guarantee that it was in closed loop.
