4:56 gear to 4:10 gear

Have any of you guys ever went from a 4:56 to 4:10 and got a faster e.t.?
Im running a 4:56 with a 28x10.5 and trapping @ approx. 7400-7500

Sure. If you have too much gear for the combo, you are wasting torque. I know a guy running a 4.86 gear with a nitrous motor and I swear if he went down to a 4.11 or 4.33 he would be faster. I've been in the car with him and you can tell the motor is just winding through the gears and all that torque the nitrous is making is being wasted.

My brother went from 4.88 to a 4.10 in his "A" body and picked up ET. I went from 4.56 to 4.10 in my wagon and lost some.

You really need a lot of bottom end to gain from stepping down in gears... Your 468 would pick up a bit depending on your combination, seems like a lot of rpm you are turning. N2O cars typically see the bigger gains when switching from something like a 56 to an 11 or even a 373... I am considering slowing mine down a bit with 411's next year.
