Altenator will not stay excited?

So recently I added a complete Mallory ignition system and a electric water pump so to make the pump fit I relocated the altenator to the drivers side and I upgraded to a 100amp from a 95 caprice 4.3 car.

I ran the stock big red wire that went from the old post on the alt marked battery to the post of the new one simple enough. The other 2 wires that were in the stock plug I cut and rejoint them to the harness end of new caprice alt.

So I start the car and rev it up to like 1500-2000 wherever it excites and bam (new autometer volt guage) reads just over 14... So I check with multimeter and it says 14+.

But in less then a minute it dips to like 12 and even lower when I turn on the electric fan.

So does anyone have any idea where to start to investigate?

the test you did already tells that it isnt keeping the battery charged enough.
