Ok this is what im wondering, i got a 79 elky with a 7.5 and 2.28 rear end gears. I just put a 500 horse motor with 150 shot of nitrous and a 4000 stall with a th350 in it now i need to do something for the rear end. Im not going to be really driving it on the street so I was thinking about putting a 8.8 in it using ladder bars, they seam real easy to do. Has anyone race the 8.8 and I saw someone say they used a 8.8 out of an explorer but isnt it leaf spring and has a offset pinion gear. Any help would be great I just dont have that much money, im on a very small budget, but i would like get this done by spring.

After looking around i might go with just using a mustang 8.8 with control arms i found this in jegs to mount the upper arm higher.

I build the 8.8 local for some gbodies..heres my first one i did with pics..
now that ive done that the ones i build now are done with tubbing not that brace

yeah that would be a lot to ship. would you sell a set of your home made tubing mounts? do you have any pics of that setup. thanks
