Installed my oil pump stud the other day and i tightened it into the main cap as far as it would go. This was before I found thar u were only supposed to have the stud hand tight. I plan to fix the problem this weekend but I'm worried if i might have bottomed it out against the bearing. Is that even possible or am I just worrying too much? I have only turned the motor over once since I installed it. If it has bottemed out is it possible that I have damaged the bearing?

You'll have to pull it. I can't say for sure which ones had blind holes. If its a blind hole, then no harm reinstall and go.

Its a one piece rear main seal block if that helps

Just went through this with a customer doing his own install. He tightened the stud on a one piece block and the hole goes all the way through. You need to pull the cap and check the bearing. His had a dimple where the stud pushed the bearing and had to be replaced. He did tighten it pretty tight with double nuts, though.
