Balancer question?

If the motor was internally balanced, how would I determine which
sbc balancer to get? I see them listed with standard bolt patterns, but
have different diameters...up to 8"? Thanks

I think mostly its just preference but some builders like the bigger/heavier balancer for different combos to keep the inertia up on the shifts.
I've got an ati 6-3/8"

the combo I'll be running the rest of this year that I needed to know is 355 4bolt 13:1, 600"lift solid cam, WPSII's ported, VictorJr, 1 7/8 Super Comp, 750cfm...bought the bottem end to mess around with but it didn't come with a balancer. The motor should be internally balanced so I guessing any SFI sbc will work on early model blocks.
