Pull your SBC out throw the headers to the side, then stick the BBC in and buy the 500.00 bbc headers from hooker. Done

Your stock coils will be fine. I'm still using the coils that were stock on my 80 Monte. Some guys even use the V6 coils for more reaction on the launch. If yours has AC it may be a bit tight on the passenger valve cover depending what covers you are using.

Our el camino has a bone stock tall deck 454 in it with stock coils and it sits fine. The funny is the duel propane tanks in the box that give it that lowered stance

I've just finished my own install of a 468 in my '83 elky with monte SS nose, honestly the biggest pain in the *ss was the transmission install. running an M22 muncie and with the headers the clutch linkage doesn't fit. But with a little work u can build a hydraulic setup like the 3rd gen Camaros. so just a heads up on transmission selection.

then its a simple install, to make the install just un-bolt the nose and put it to the side. there isnt much to do that. then lay the headers in place and then drop in the engine, much easier then putting them in after!!!!
