big tire under 84 monte

Hey guys, im new here so cut me a break, but ive got a 84 monte drag car, trying to find some info on some rear tire sizes people are running, ive ran a 275/60 bfg drag radial, and a 28x10.5 et drag on a weld 15x8 4.5 backspacing with a 7/16 spacer, i was wondering if anyone has tucked a 295/65 m/t drag radial under 1 of these cars, ive already don the frame cutting and clearancing, from what ive read, itl be around the same section width on the 8 wide wheel as the 28x10.5 but ill have to see, any info please let me know

i had a 28 12.5 under my car with frame notched 10 inch wheel and 5 inch back spacing

and i had a 28 11.5 mt slick .fit perfect.

That car looks bad *ss! I wish the Malibu had a round wheel like that. I'm able to fit a pretty big tire stock but it's very close on the wheel well lip.

man that car is slammed, whata got for front spings-spindles? how are header clearances and oil pan? my car sits about that low in the front, but a little higher in back, i wana get mine like that, ill probly stick with my 28x10.5 et drag, i have plent of clearance, i could probly tuck the 295, we had my buddys up to the car checking it out, but itl just cause more work. im sure everyone knows how that goes

blown81bu has 295's on his bu with a frame notch. With a 10" wheel, it is the TIGHTEST tire clearance I've ever seen. His fender lips are cut flush, less than a pinky's worth of clearance in there.

What size M/T Drag radial would be the close to the same size as 28x12.50-15 M/T slick??

well closest to the width id say would probly be a 295 or 315, but im looking for more height, not so much the width

Describe your frame notch. If it is radical enough, you can fit any DR that MT makes. If it is all the way to the inner frame skin it can be done. Look here:

its not to crazy, just behind the tire, square notch, enough to take the curve out of the frame, ive seen the whole cuttng the frame and welding the outside to the inside, but i dont want to go that radical, that would involve moving the wheel well, exc. i think i can fit them, but the sidewall will stick out past the 1/4, and the tread will be close to flush, but who knows, ima try later this week with my buddys
