I dug out a book I've had around for a long time. Anyone interested in the 3.8 as a carburated model should own one. It was written by John Thawley with a LOT of stuff from the early factory supported IMSA development by Smokey Yunick.
It's the only reason I still consider building a 3.8. That and the fact most of the tips can now be done for cheap, I have two 3.8's and no money so cheap is good. Old school hot rodding. I also have a line on a 76 Vega longroof that would fly with something like this for power!

Book title: The Buick Free Spirit Power Manual
publisher: Steve Smith Autosports
P.O. Box 11631
Santa Ana,CA 92711
(1980 address)
author: John Thawley

Originally published 1980 so no ISBN number

I found mine on ePay.
