Cutlass Supreme-Offset motor

I have been told several times about the motors being offset in some of the Cutlass Supremes. How often is this?
Any of you guys have this problem? Do I have to put the motor in first to physicall see if it is offset or can I tell without
the motor in the car?

I think they're all offset to the passenger side,If the air cleaner stud is a good center for a small block my 81 measures 29 1/2" to the passenger fender and 31 to the driver side,1 1/2" offset,maybe I'll check the others tomorrow,the 81's inside!! Later

Yup, they're all offset. Most every (older) rear drive car is.
