Do I need a roll cage?

Hello all. I need some help.
I am going to run a BBC 461, with a 4 speed, 9 inch rearend, and am shooting for around 500 hp. Is a cage necessary? I plan to drive it on the street on the weekends, 99% street use.

Basically , would my car distort or twist?

Any information would be great.
