I will be painting a golf cart, the body is a hard plastic, if you try and cut it it almost has a rubber feel to it. Should a flex additive be added? I cant see it ever flexing unless you hit something, as hard as it is I thought it was fiberglass untill I started working on it.

Re: painting plastics....

I myself preffer not to put foriegn chemical's in my paint , your newer base clears are pretty flexable , i do alot of corvettes to give you and idea , no flex additives and no problems .

i do use the flex add in all single stage enamel applications though .

If your doing bare plastic def use some adhesion promoter , hope this helps .

Re: painting plastics....

cool, no additive.

I scuffed an area and the color comes off, so no clear coat. Should I put a sealer-primer over it?

If it were me , i'd hit it with 320 and a red pad , seal it and shoot .

Sealer is cheap enough and makes laying base so much better .

But it's not a must , anywhere you have to work it use some decent 2k primer , or just scuff and shoot buddy . \:D/

WOW, I cant believe how much paint is for plain black. Think I can get away with 1/2 pint color, mixed should be 1 pint total ???
