Hey everyone. In the middle of trying to decide on what kind of heads to choose to replace my modded 882's that have 2.02/1.60 valves.

Let's start out with my budget needs to be under $800, preferably in the $650 range. I've spoken to one of my friends who owns a local speed shop and he has highly recommended Patriots 185cc vortec heads. Others have recommended 190-200cc Dart Iron eagles. Hoping to get some more info here.

Here's my setup:

-350 bored .010
-Forged bottom end with hypereutectic pistons (4 valve reliefs)
-Lunati 60103, 227/233 dur., .489/.504 lift
-Air Gap intake with a jetted down 750 Carter
-Full length headers with 2.5 inch flowmaster exhaust

-700r4 trans fully built with 2300-2500 stall
-3.73 auburn posi rear end

Figure my compression has been around 9 to 9.2:1 as quoted by the machine shop and other speed shops. Looking for 64cc chambers to get me at the 10:1 mark and to give better breathing capabilities past 4000rpm. Which heads would you guys recommend? Again budget is in the 600-800$ range.

Patriots are getting better from what I've heard, maybe you can get a bare set and throw your parts in them. to make it a little cheaper

How much are the Brodix IK 180's? I think 190-200 may be too big. You are on the right track, with the size of the Patriots, but I will say i don't know much about them.

If you could find a set of 14011034 heads you would be very happy with them. With your set-up 190 runners should be your max.

You'll also need a Vortec intake with those heads... so that's another $100-$150 unless you get a real good deal on one. Don't believe the 'drilled for both intakes' bit, the Vortec intake port is different from a traditional SBC, and by the time the ports are matched you'll have hardly any sealing surface at the top of the port.

Look into the RHS Vortec heads. Here is a link.

All the benefits of Vortec heads without the flaws. Yes you need a intake, but you can always sell what you have to off set the costs.
