I finally got around to putting a few miles on Darwin after swapping the 2.73 gears for 2.41s. I had been a little concerned that the 2.41s would be too high for a 3470lb wagon (weighed with full fuel but no driver) with a 262cuin V6 but it turned out very well. There may be a little less pickup around town but the car is still very drivable and I really appreciate her new found long leggedness. The only real problem is that the speedometer gears have not been changed so I have to guestimate what speed I am driving by mentally comparing ratios or using the tach. Its a pain but not that bad. I'll take care of that when I replace the Saginaw 3 speed with a Super T-10 ultra wide ratio (3.42 first gear  ).
