How to wire a two speed fan ???

I have a 3.8l Taurus fan for the Bu and want to make it run on low all the time and high when the temp gets above 185. I have a temp switch (on 185 off 170) and relay kit but my stupidity when it comes to wirin' is painfully evident. will it fry something to have power to both the low and high speed power wires at the same time?? How do you go about this (use small words and type slowly :lol: :lol: :lol: ) A diagram would be great!! TIA
