Ignition issue

I didn't touch, cut or even unplug any wires that run to the ignition but when I plug in my fuel gauge, gauge back lights and radio they come on even when the key is off. Now this is annoying im beating my head off the garage floor trying to figure out what I did wrong.

Car is a 81 Malibu with stock ignition. any tip will be greatly appreciated.

Ok I was having a blond moment (so my GF says) I forget there are live and ignition slots of the fuse panel, but the thing that still has me wondering is why did I have these things plug in there before and they would come on with the key but now they run all the time...odd I say.

Did you plug the at them exact same holes ??? Some are hot at all time and other are switched ! Check it out !

Ya i know about the hot and switch I just remember my radio being in one of the hot slots but I think I wired it different and it was killing my battery. I got it all sorted out now.
