Manusl Steering Box-Pros/Cons

So I blew my power steering pump at the track friday night as it's howling now..Only a year old BTW from RockAuto. Anyways I was thinking of going with a manual steering box out of a S-10. Would I need the S-10 pitman arm, I have heard yes and no and what are the pros and cons of doing this? I am looking for a manual box as we speak, just testing the waters.

i used my mid 80's s10 box with the pitman arm that came on it with no issues.

how big are your arms?

Normally Man. & Power Pitmans are made differently. As said above use the Arm that's on the Box.
If you're using narrow front tires the steering effort wont be too bad.
