Muncie 4 speed....speedo cable question

Does anyone know if the Saginaw and Muncie speedo cable gear is the same. I put a muncie in my Malibu and it came with the 4 speed saginaw. I need to know if I can just go buy a saginaw speedo gear. The original speedo cable doesn't thread on to the muncie one. So I assume I can just switch the speedo gears? Anyone else have this issue? I have the original guages in the car also. The only difference I assume is that the saginaw one is metric and the muncie is not! Thanks!!!

I would imagine you can switch the speedo gear housing between the two. Far as the gears are there will possibly be a different pitch if the drive gear on the output shaft has a different number of teeth.

I may be wrong, but I think you can just swap the speedo bullets.

Is it called that too? I thought the threads on my new 4-speed may have been different... turns out it was just paint on the threads :x
