im looking at a set of torq thrust wheels 2 17x7 Front wheels (4 1/4 Backspace)
2 17x8 Rear wheels (4 1/2 Backspace) Chevy Bolt Pattern


Yokohama ES100 ZR rated tires 245 Front 275 Rear will these work on my 78 malibu?? or not?

Im not positive about the backspacing, but I think you're OK. BTW, 275/xx 17's aren't supposed to be mounted on anything smaller than 9" wheels.

You should be able to run up to about 4 7/8" backspacing up front, that's what I tried with my 17x9.5", but they stuck out a little past the fender (my car is also lowered) :x I think 17x8s would quite possibly fit, could probably run 255/45s, and they'll be almost 1/2" taller than 275/40s. A 17x9.5 (possibly 17x10) with about 4.875" (4 7/8) will fit in the back with 275/40 if you do a fender lip roll/trim. I didn't check passenger side, but I could fit my hand between the tire and stock frame on the driver side.
