Quite simple, yet I am at a loss to find a "bolt-on" or "plug & play" solution. ](*,)
I have a V8 transplanted into an original V6 79 Malibu with a TH-350 transmission.
My current throttle cable bracket is a welded together monster of pieces I cut from other stock brackets, and although butt ugly and it can move around a bit, it does kinda work.
My stock V6 cable has a broken "wing" on the end that holds it into the bracket hole.
The trans kickdown cable is well and good though. :?

SO what I am looking for is a nice store-bought bracket that can hold a throttle cable and a TH-350 trans kickdown cable.
As well, I need a new throttle cable to go along with whatever is available bracket wise as my cable is broken.

What are you using? I've read good about Lokar cables but which to get?
Got a close pic of the left side of the carb for me to get an idea?
I'm sure I'm not the first guy to run into this simple, yet frustrationg, dilema.
Thanks for any help. [-o<

I'm thinking about getting one of these>> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330399321057&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
Friend on mine has one, He mounted the Detent cable piece on the bottom of the slot & used a Braided throttle cable on top like Pics. I think Skip has these in natural finish also.
Or something like these:

The eBay link is exactly the design I want. I have never seen one of those used with a trans cable nor did I see mention of using a trans cable in that link either. Did your friend have to buy the trans piece sepearte? This is the best news I've heard!
The first Summit link may be my last hope but I was looking for something more substantial, like the eBay link.
The last Summit link I've found there before. It too could be a possibilty.
I really want to go with a setup like the eBay link.

EDIT- I should have read closer. I quote the link "This setup also includes a pillow block with a square hole in it that is most likely for mounting a detent cable. This block can easily be mounted on the underside of the main bracket. It is the blue block pictured in the center of the three blocks shown in the display picture above showing all parts". They said "most likely for mounting a detent cable" Don't they know? #-o What kind of seller are they?

THANK YOU for the lead!! I'm going to see if anyone else steps in here to share but I this is the way I'm going too.
I'm just wondering what other companies sell an item like this too. A company that knows what the hole is there for and has the parts to support it.

I really like the one SSedan64 posted. Its a very good price also. But what I have used in the past was a basic Spectre 24283 universal throttle bracket. Get them on Ebay or your local AutoZone for like $18.00

I talked to Skip a while back, the guy that delt with these Brackets was in the process of having a part made so they would easily work with the 2004R & 700R4 TV Cables but He left the Co. before anything was finished. Skip told me about using the included Bracket on the bottom for the Detent setup.
I tried to narrow this search down a little>> http://www.summitracing.com/search/Department/Air-Fuel-Delivery/Section/Carburetors-Accessories/Part-Type/Throttle-Cable-Brackets/Fuel-Delivery/Carburetor/Bracket-Mounting-Style/Carburetor-base/Carburetor-Manufacturer/Holley/Bracket-Material/Billet-aluminum/?Ns=Rank%7cAsc as you can see AED, CSR, Holley, Lokar & Summit have these Brackets.
This shows how I was describing mounting one underneath>> http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CSI-621B/?rtype=10 this part is included in the Skip kit.
You can use a Braided Throttle cable on top, then use a standard GM Detent cable underneath. ;)
You can also buy other small Throttle and Detent cable mounts seperately on Ebay & Summit but, they're are darn near as much as the complete kit if you buy a big brand name one. LOL! :-s
Example>> http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-20-119/?rtype=10 this is just the circled part. on Ebay they're about $25.

SSedan64 - THANK YOU for the info! I don't know how I did not find all that you showed when I was looking around at Summit. Instead of not even knowing what to get, you have given me choices!

As I originally said, my existing stock throttle cable has a broken tab where it snaps into the bracket so I need a new one.
I'm kinda lost on this quote--- "You can use a Braided Throttle cable on top, then use a standard GM Detent cable underneath.
You can also buy other small Throttle and Detent cable mounts seperately on Ebay & Summit but, they're are darn near as much as the complete kit if you buy a big brand name one. LOL! "
Is the supplied block in the Skip W made for a braided cable? If so; Any reccomendations on one? It looks that way in the pics. For the cost of the Skip unit over Summit-I'm sure that's the way I'm going to go.
I guess I should just order it now and then I can answer my own questions. \:D/
Thanks again for the help.

Yes, the Mount for a Braided Cable is included, a Mount for a Stock GM Cable is also included, the 2 Blue pieces.
If you wanted to use Stock type GM throttle and Stock type Detent cable you would need another Cable Mount.
Skip may have Braided Cables, I haven't checked that. The quality on throttle cables isn't as crtical as a Trans Detent or Trans TV cable. Most of the cheap/import Detent/TV cables leak fluid at the Trans end. Arrg! If you want a Braided Detent or TV Cable, I suggest Lokar.
Skip does have them>> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/36-INCH-BRADED-STAINLESS-THROTTLE-CABLE-08236-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4cf56758ffQQitemZ330534705407QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Another Co. to check with is KMJ, they sell on Ebay & also have most of the same parts as Skip W.

I just ordered a Skip W bracket (it is a ProComp item) and a braided throttle cable. :D
We'll see in about a month (car is still in winter hibernation) how things go.
Thanks all for the help!
