Hughes Performance is now offering custom built torque converters for the new GM 6L80 transmission. These converters are a 10" design, and include the following build features:
• CNC-machined billet steel front cover
• CNC-machined billet steel lock-up piston
• Extra wide premium heavy duty red lock-up friction material
• Fully furnace brazed and spot brazed impeller assembly
• Fully furnace brazed and spot brazed turbine assembly
• CNC-machined billet steel turbine spline
• Custom designed investment cast heavy duty stator
• Heat treated sprag races
• Oversize sprag rollers
• Full roller bearing construction
• Precision ground chromoly pump hub
• Pressure tested
• Computer dynamic balancing
• 3,000 and 3,500 RPM stall speeds as well as custom stall speeds available
• Rated for use with up to 1,000 flywheel horsepower
• Compatible with all power adders
The 3,000 converter is available under part number 65-30L. The 3,500 converter is available under part number 65-35L. Custom units are available with stall speeds ranging anywhere from 2,500 RPM to 4,500 RPM.
