Offset Lower Control Arms

I have noticed that some manufacturers sell lower control arms for g-bodys with different size spacers that are offset to the inside, and some do not. Are these offset control arms necessary for tire clearance?

Looking at some photo's the tire looks like would touch the frame before it touches the control arm.

Yes, its to match the lines on a notched frame rail. Most serious guys will max notch plus build a custom rear housing and move the brackets in towards the center. In most stock suspension classes, this is still considered stock.
