In a previous post I was talking about my "cherry" Malibu. Well turns out its not that cherry..... The car is in A1 condition, here is the reason. Some time ago my grandmother had an accident. Good news is the car has good paint. bad news is it is a 78 with what I think is an 80 header panel, grill and bezels. We all know how hard it is to find the 78-79 header panels. For the car to be correct, I am another guy that is searching for one. I have LOTS of time to find one as I have just started this build. Pride goes before fall.

I have tried goodmark, monte carlo depo, year one, others I can't think of now. I can't find anything except grills and bezels. I guess I will have to find someone who has one for sale. I would like the car to be stock appearing, aside from the wheels and tires.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Keep checking ebay and on here, you'll run across them sooner or later. Dont spend too much just cause you've been looking for awhile though. Shouldnt be more than $250 at MOST for a complete setup with grille and headlight trim in very good shape.

I have a spare header panel for a 78/79 that I would sell, it does not have the trim/bezels/grille but IIRC the rest is in pretty good shape. Two small problems though. 1.Shipping would likely be a deal breaker, I do not mind boxing it up or building a crate to ship it in but it might cost $$$$$$$ to ship. 2.I cannot get to it until late April/early May. It is in the rafters in our shop & if I dropped it on top of another vehicle when I was getting it, either I would be pissed or my dad would be pissed depending on what it landed on. PM me closer to spring if you still need one & we can see what we could work out.

Our shop looks like this in winter. 40 X 40 with 11 cars, a farm tractor, a model A chassis and lots of assorted "stuff" crammed in around the edges.

Great idea on ebay! I never even thought about ebay, I will try craigslist as well.

Yeah shipping would be outrageous!! (I will keep you in mind though.) If I haven't found one closer to the completion date I will look you up for sure. I do agree with you about the space issue... I had to do a lot of cleaning up/out to have room for this project.
