Pinion Angle with 12 bolt rear??

I'm sure this has been asked a few times, but what is the pinion angle needed for out G-Body cars, more specefically a 1984 Monte Carlo with a 12 bolt rear?? I bought my 12 bolt swap kit from UMI Performance and I was told that the angle would be set when the kit arrives. AFter putting new rear shocks in today I'm thinking that the angle is off as the shock bolts aren't a straight through fit.......
