I was told by my mechanic that i needed a stall to balance out my cam. Before the stall the car idle had to be turned all the way up (around 1100) and would still die when dropped into gear. The new stall is a b&m holeshot 23-2600 stall. However i bought it used and when i put the car into drive it moves automatically like a normal car. The car shouldnt accelerate until around atleast 2000 rpm correct? the car also doesnt die when put into gear anymore and idles around 700 rpm. Any ideas?

Your cam, weight and gears are gonna make any stall act different. There are also tight stalls and loose ones

im running around a 475 cam, stock weight and i think around a 340-360 gear ratio. I noticed a little more trouble hooking up, but my dad said that the car shouldnt accelerate at all until the rpm's hit 2400. but the converter did help with idle and allowed me to idle normally after i readjusted the carb. do you think its a slip converter then? could i add anything to make the stall work so that i could achieve the performance increase?

I have a 3500 stall in mine and it moves long long before it hits 3500, but it will flash to 3500.

I just purchased a gn 373 limited slip posi read end. Will this gear help with increasing the performance of the converter or is there a way that I can increase its performance? Also will the limited slip posi make a big difference over the one main wheel drive? Thanks , Kyle

The TC's stall rating doesn't mean it will slip like neutral until the advertised stall rating. It allows the TC to slip up to the stall rating under a Brake stall or Flash stall then when it can't hold the Engine's torque it starts to couple the Trans to Engine rpm.
Changing the Rear gear or Engine power will change a TC's Stall rating.
The 3.73 gear will help accelleration & a slight increase of Stall. The Posi will help Traction.

my converter is a 2800-3200 stall. it flashes to 3200 when i leave the line. if i put it into gear and just let off the brake, it moves on its own.
