regal hood shocks on a malibu

wanted to know if the regal hood shocks would work on a glass malibu hood, or has anybody tried this.

x2. Gas charged lifts require a LOT more initial force to compress than the old style springs. I've been told you can "unclock" the stock springs to use them on a fiberglass hood.

Im looking into this on my stock hood, anyone done that easily? Dont think it will too difficult.
