I am purchasing an 87' Cutlass this sunday, and want to first put rims/tires on the car. Can anyone please let me know what width rim/bs works the best, and largest DRadial that will fit without notching anything right now? Example pics would be great.

I appreciate any help, pics, and advice with this new adventure.

8" rim with either 3.5" or 4" backspacing (depending on what the manufacturer offers)

a 275/60-15 will fit but you need to roll the fender lip. A 255/60-15 will work with out any fender messaging

I know i have asked this before but never got a straight answer. i have a 15x8.5 centerline wheel with 4 3/4 back space. can a 30x9 M/T slick fit my car or what has to be done so it will fit.

I would think no. You would need 4.25" backspacing on an 8.5" rim to be centered up nice. 4" would work but you would need to roll the fender lip. The 4.75" backspacing should rub on the frame.

I don't know about a 30" x 9" slick (they have a wider section width than the 28 and 29 x 9 slicks that I have seen.)

I would think you would need a frame notch and have to move the wheel tubs in to fit the 30 x 9, but I am not certain as I haven't ever tried that tall of a tire
