Running my car @ Bristol last night. I was noticing my rpm drop @ shift 2nd to 3rd seemed odd. Shifting @ 6500 I noticed almost no rpm drop and the shift light stayed lit all the way threw from the 8th to the 1/4 traps. I was well over 7k at the stripe I'm thinking it was 7300 +/-. Has th350 custom Freakshow 9" 4500 stall 4:10's 28" tire. Just seems excessive to me. Car still ran ok.

I realize there are many variables. The guy I pit with thinks its normal. It pulls all the way threw but almost 7400 rpm. seems like a lot with a 28'' tire and 4 10 gear.

I don't look either. After 35 years of driving a manual trans you go by your ear. Besides, RPM drop is always the same with a stick...

sounds like it is slipping in high gear,,do a check on desktop dyno or similar program to see what rpm it says you should be turning,,good luck and keep us informed please,,cheers

I think it's slipping too in high gear. Or the converter is very inefficient.

No slipping, 7400rpm + 28" + 4.10 comes out around 150mph.
