I have a SBC 400 bored.60 over and have replaced the rear main seal with the bigger FelPro #2909 rear main seal which I had to force it in and the engine still leaks from the rear main seal when the engine is shut off like it has done in the past, could it be that I tore the rear main seal putting it in or what, I also offset the new seal when I put it in and put dabs of RTV on the edeges of the block and cap,and this is like the third rear main seal I have installed with the engine on the stand and it still LEAKS any HELP.THANKS

So you know for sure the oil is coming from the crank? Is it possible the rear cam plug or one of those gallery plugs could be the culprit?

All plugs look good and all oil gallies, why do you think this engine only leaks when the engine is shut off,I thought a rear main seal or oil galley will leak when the engine is running/THANKS
