Was wondering if anyone know about some SBC Vortec heads that has freeze plugs in the fronts and rears of them where the accessory bolt holes are,would like to know if they perform like the regular Vortec heads or what,they are installed on a SBC Vortec engine that came out of a truck,I never seen ones like this.

Sounds like a newer Vortec Engine, LS1 type Heads have Plugs on the front end.

These are SBC heads with the Vortec bolt pattern that is on a Chevy 5.7 block(3880) casting,out ot a 1996 Tahoe truck, I myself have never seen heads like these and no one else that I know has, just thought somebody will know something about them,there are no casting numbers on them but they do have screw in studs.THANKS
Cant download pics but I have seen some pics of SBC Canfield heads with the freeze plugs in the fronts that were on Ebay.
