SLACK IN NEW TIMING CHAINS ???'S

I have a SBC 406 shrtblock I have installed a used Retro fit Hyd Roller Comp Cam in and Im putting a Comp Cams double roller timing chain set on(part#2100) I have the TDC installed the lower sprocket straight up and when I install the top sprocket with the chain with the dots in correct line,the chain has some slack in it on both sides,I have tried 2 different comp cams 2100 chain sets and they both have slack in them on both sides.Im using comp cams lock plate with bolts and roller button,I have did plenty in the past and they usually be tight on both sides,ANY HELP?THANKS :? :? :? :?

IF there is a lot taken out of the mains, you may need a chain for .005 shorter center to center.

So can I just buy a shorter chain like the Comp Cams # 3037 that is .005 shorter and it will work with my Comp Cams#2100 timing gears?THANKS
