Ok this might be a noob question but my malibu has the original speedometer... (only goes to 85 mph) i was wondering what people do to get the speedometer that goes to 120. Anytime i see a malibu it always has a different speedometer kinda like the same one my brothers 73 nova has, do you guys just find it and swap it out? Oh yeah and sorry if this isnt in the right section, couldnt really tell which section this question would go in, thanks

Is it a wide sweep speedo? If so that's the only speedometer I know of besides metric. For a round speedo some Monte Carlos came with one that goes to 115mph.
The standard speedo was the type like in the Nova. Optional guages had the round style, but still only went to 85. You could also get a factory tach with the round style. If you got a car the police package, you got the 115 mph speedo. There are some out there, but they are usually expensive.
Like Doober said, some of the later Montes came with a 115 mph speedo also. But usually they sell for a pretty good buck also.

The speedo in my Malibu is is round and goes to 85 I've seen the wide 120 speedo in all other malibus that's why I'm asking...
Seems to me it was the Monte Carlo SS Daytona Coupe that had a 145mph speedo in it from the factory and Lauren engineering had (or may still have) decals to put on the round face speedo and then all you had to do was get them calibrated to match
