Stock Proportioning Valve!

Hi, I have a 1980 Malibu drag car and I was just wondering if there is a reason as to why General Motors/Chevrolet mounted the brake proportioning down on the frame by the header collectors?

If I bought an aftermarket proportioning valve (ssbc), would I be able to mount it up near the brake booster?

If you don't "need " an aftermarket combo valve, you can just get a booster mounted bracket & line kit from a hot rod parts company & put your stock combo valve on it.

They mounted it down there cause they didnt have header collectors from the factory!!!
