Changed from lights to gauges. What wire goes to the oil sender unit. i think it calls for the tan wire,but it doesn't work? Any help would be great.

It probably sounds stupid, but you need a gague sender, too. the idiot light sender won't work on gauges.

I put n a oil gauge sender from the back of the block. There were three wires n the idiot light connector I assumed the tan wire was the write wire but it doesn't work.
